Lee Thorne
Lee Thorne, an Iuka native, graduated Magna Cum Lade with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mississippi State University in May. He was the 2009-2010 Stennis Montgomery Association President, and served as Co-Director of Community and Governmental Relations for the MSU Student Association. Lee will be attending Law School at the University of Mississippi this fall.

Lydia Quarles is Senior Policy Analyst at the John C. Stennis Institute of Government at Mississippi State University. A lawyer by trade, her blog concentrates on state and local legal issues for communities in Mississippi.
Jeff Markham
Civic education is one of the primary functions of the Stennis Institute. Over the past few months, Stennis Institute graduate assistant Joanna Frederick and former Stennis Institute assistant Phil Bass (currently a law student at the University of Mississippi) researched and developed a book on Civic Education in Mississippi. The book, edited by Lydia Quarles and Jeff Markham, serves as a basis for understanding government and culture in Mississippi. The book will be available for ordering later this Fall. In the meantime, this blog will offer excerpts from the book. Stay tuned for further information.
Kesha Perry
Kesha Perry is Research Associate at John C. Stennis Institute of Government at Mississippi State University. In her spare time, Kesha is a PhD student in Public Administration at MSU. An avid political and sports enthusiast, Kesha’s blog primarily focuses on African Americans’ involvement in government and politics (but will also lend itself as a platform for minority experience in America).
